ABOUT
US
Investure was founded in 2003 to bring the broad
investment capabilities of a larger investment office to
mid-sized endowment and foundation clients. Investure’s
Founder and President, Alice Handy, served as the Chief Investment
Officer of the University of Virginia’s endowment from
1974-2003. During that time, the portfolio management approach
of most endowments and foundations evolved; most sophisticated
institutions have transitioned from simple portfolios of
stocks and bonds to a more complex mix of asset classes including
private equity and hedge funds. Because Investure believes
that the best managers in all asset classes are not stumbled
upon, but are sought out through diligent work and consistent
effort, it takes a team of specialized and dedicated investment
professionals to source, analyze, and monitor those managers. Large
endowments and foundations have used their size as an advantage
by building high-quality teams of investment professionals
in-house while smaller endowments have been left behind. By
aggregating a small number of like-minded clients, Investure
seeks to bridge this gap by providing a sophisticated, full-service
investment office with the proven ability to analyze and
access superior investment managers at a reasonable cost.
Investure serves a group of high-quality institutions with
similar investment goals and investment horizons. We believe
that one of the benefits of our shared investment office
is the expanded network created by the combination of institutions.
Each institution has a powerful group of alumni and constituents,
the sum of which becomes more valuable than the parts. Investure
serves as an unbiased, independent investment office to leverage
this network in the most appropriate way. |
